Future Plan

For
Gidhwa Parsada
Bird Sanctuary

The Gidhwa-Parsada Bird Sanctuary is committed to continuous development and enhancement of the sanctuary area to provide an ideal habitat for avian species and offer an enriching experience for visitors and researchers alike. The future plan includes the following initiatives:

  • Bird Habitat Development : Ongoing efforts will focus on further improving the bird habitat within the sanctuary area. The sanctuary management will work towards creating diverse and suitable nesting, feeding, and resting environments for the avian population. Wetlands, grasslands, and forested areas will be carefully maintained and nurtured to cater to the varied needs of different bird species.
  • Weed Eradication : Invasive plant species can disrupt the natural ecosystem and negatively impact bird habitats. To mitigate this, extensive weed eradication programs will be implemented to ensure the native vegetation thrives, providing optimal conditions for both flora and fauna.
  • Expansion of Pastures and Aquatic Plants : Expanding pastures and aquatic plant areas will provide additional feeding grounds and shelter for the birds, further enhancing the sanctuary's biodiversity. Sustainable management practices will be employed to strike a balance between conservation and expansion.
  • >Tree Plantation : The sanctuary management will focus on tree plantation initiatives to create more nesting sites and roosting spots for various bird species. The strategic planting of native trees will foster a conducive environment for the birds while contributing to carbon sequestration and environmental sustainability.
  • Infrastructure Development : To promote birdwatching and enhance visitors' experience, the construction of platforms, pagodas, and other observation points will continue to be a priority. These structures will be strategically placed to offer unobtrusive observation opportunities for birdwatchers and researchers.
  • International Bird Interpretation cum Training Center : In line with the government's announcement, the construction of an international level Bird Interpretation cum Training Center is proposed for Gidhwa village. This center will serve as a hub for bird enthusiasts, researchers, and students, offering educational programs, workshops, and research opportunities. The center's facilities and resources will be designed to promote bird conservation, ecological awareness, and sustainable practices.
